Birchwood ABC Dress Code
- Haircuts must be conservative in length and
style with no unnatural colors.
- Clean, conservative clothing (no holes).
- No offensive language or advertisement for
alcohol, or cigarettes on any clothing.
- Skirts and shorts must be of a length so that they extend at least to within one inch of knee.
- Principal has final decision concerning
appropriateness of dress.
- Students whose clothing is deemed
inappropriate will not be allowed to stay in classroom.

Birchwood ABC is a K-6 alternative elementary school within the Anchorage School System. ABC stands for Anchorage Basic Curriculum and implies a "back-to basics" approach to education. The school emphasizes high standards for both academics and deportment. Character development, patriotism and excellent manners are consistently emphasized.
